I have launched my blog for a selfish reason: I want to learn to write a little better. Right now, I spend a fair amount of my time writing uninspiring technical documents. I am not sure if a blog will help me write better, but I have my fingers crossed. This is my main goal, so I apologize If I become long-winded occasionally.
There were other minor reasons to start a blog:
- I live in Bakersfield and most of the people I know do not live in Bakersfield.
- I wanted my Mom to have something on the Internet she enjoys reading (Hi, Mom!).
- My Dad has a super-awesome website already, and I became jealous.
- I read a lot of books and I wanted a place to keep my notes, which I am constantly losing.
- Finally, I am quick to forget people, places and events–this will be my effort to keep a record.
